Wrestling with Speaking Skills

The photo, above, of Chainsaw King ran with an article about Fully Loaded Wresting Camp published in the Minot Daily News.

Once upon a time, our kind-but-tough Karen Kalutz was lovingly nicknamed “The Princess of Pain” by a grateful-though-beleaguered public speaking client. So we were more than a little intrigued when we saw that someone named the Chainsaw King was teaching a session that included public speaking.

When we followed the link, we learned it was about a professional wrestling camp. It just goes to show that public speaking skills are valuable, whatever your passion in life might be.

Along with “ring rocking stunts, thunderous takedowns and crowd-pleasing showmanship,” the Fully Loaded Wrestling Camp promised to develop “stage persona and public speaking skills.” Chainsaw King himself was teaching both wrestling maneuvers and microphone techniques.

Be assured, even our Princess of Pain does not use thunderous takedowns when working with speakers. But we do have at least a couple of things in common with this wrestling+public speaking camp: We believe on-your-feet practice with personal coaching is the fastest, surest way to improve your presentation skills. And we know public speaking training works better when you’re having fun.
